Spirituality & Trauma Healing

“If we do not transform our pain, we will always transmit it.”

Meet Charlotte

Priest. Therapist. Spiritual Director. Writer. Speaker. Educator.

There are lots of words to describe the work I do, but here’s the heart of it:

Trauma leaves an imprint on the mind, body, and spirit. It changes our sense of who we are and how we live in the world. Just as trauma can be inflicted by individuals, families, groups, and institutions, we can also see the impact of trauma on individuals, families, groups, and institutions over the course of many generations.

But I believe with my whole heart that healing and growth are possible. And I believe that all of these areas that are impacted by trauma—mind, body, spirit, identity, habits, families, groups, and even institutions—have the potential to be agents of healing if they are given the chance to do so. So we need to talk about what that looks like.

Through my work with individuals, in my speaking and writing, and in the work I do with groups through workshops, retreats, and trainings, I help my clients identify the resources they already have for healing, and explore what new skills and approaches they need to develop.
